Thermatov designs and builds premium Finnish-style saunas in Canada — engineered for the Canadian climate and honouring two thousand years of sauna tradition.
Our Story
Thermatov is a Canadian sauna company, founded in 2020 with a single intention: to bring an ancient practice home. We took the sauna — refined over two thousand years in Finnish birch forests — and re-engineered it for the Canadian climate, the Canadian home, and the Canadian winter.
Every unit leaves our Ontario facility having passed the only test that matters: it must feel right the moment the door closes. Cedar warm enough to settle into. Heat dry enough to breathe. Light low enough to disappear. The specifications come second.
Five hundred installations later — from coastal Vancouver to maritime Halifax, in private homes and commercial wellness centres — Thermatov is the Canadian sauna company families trust for custom indoor saunas, outdoor saunas, and barrel saunas.
What Drives Us
Every joint, seal, and component in a Thermatov sauna is engineered for performance, longevity, and safety. No shortcuts, no compromises.
Premium cedar and weather-sealed construction rated for -40°C Canadian winters.
Every Thermatov sauna is designed around peer-reviewed research on heat therapy, cardiovascular health, and recovery science.
Designed, assembled, and shipped from Ontario. Local supply chains, local jobs, and a warranty backed by a company you can visit.
Sauna Wood
Every Thermatov sauna is built from responsibly sourced, kiln-dried North American wood — Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, and Basswood — each selected for heat tolerance, moisture resistance, and natural beauty.
Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) is the premium classic — naturally durable, dimensionally stable, and rich in aromatic oils. The leading choice for outdoor saunas and exterior cladding.
Eastern White Cedar (Thuja occidentalis) is the lightest, coolest-touching cedar — naturally decay-resistant with a softer, milder scent. A warm, value-friendly pick for barrel and outdoor saunas.
Basswood (Tilia americana) is odorless, resin-free, and hypoallergenic, and it stays cool to the touch. The go-to wood for sauna benches, backrests, and anyone sensitive to cedar — best kept to interiors.
The Process
Choose your model, wood, heater, and extras — the quiz finds your match.
Premium Canadian and Scandinavian materials, certified. Never mass-produced.
Hand-assembled in our Ontario facility. Every joint and seal inspected.
48-hour heat cycling, moisture-seal checks, and electrical certification.
Our team delivers and commissions it — you're in heat by day's end.

“We had a great experience from start to finish. I liked that the sauna was customizable and not just a basic one size fits all option. The 3D configurator was very helpful to customize the entire sauna. Service was great, delivery was smooth and the finished product looks amazing. I won't be going to gyms for old outdated saunas anymore. Overall very satisfied with my experience!”
“Absolutely love my new sauna! The quality is excellent, it was easy to set up, and it works exactly as expected. It heats up quickly and has become one of my favorite ways to relax after a long day. The customer service was also great and made the purchasing process smooth and stress free. If you're thinking about investing in a sauna, I highly recommend this company.
