Harvia sauna heaters, answered.
A common rule of thumb is roughly 1 kW of heater output for every 1.3–2 m³ (about 45–70 cu ft) of room volume, with extra capacity added for glass doors, windows and uninsulated surfaces. Measure your room's length × width × height, match the kW to that volume, and our team can confirm the right model for your space.
Harvia electric heaters are ETL Listed by Intertek (cETLus) for North American 240V installation. Certification varies by model and does not automatically extend to wood-burning stoves, so check the certification noted on each product page or ask our team before purchasing.
The KIP is Harvia's value wall-mounted electric heater; the Cilindro is the signature cylindrical pillar with a large visible stone column for soft, rounded heat; the Spirit and Virta lines step up in capacity and finish. All share Harvia's Finnish engineering.
Electric heaters are simplest for indoor and urban saunas — wire them to a controller and they're ready on a timer or app. Wood-burning stoves (Harvia Legend, PRO, Linear and M3) suit off-grid and outdoor saunas where you want a live fire and don't need an electrical supply.
Yes. Compatible Harvia heaters work with the Harvia Xenio WiFi controller and the MyHarvia app, so you can schedule and start your sauna remotely. We stock the Xenio WiFi control in the controllers section below.
Electric sauna heaters above roughly 3 kW require a dedicated 240V circuit and must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician to your local electrical code. We can advise on breaker and wire sizing for your chosen model.
